Giraffe Diaper Cake

Hello, Baby Lovers!  Here's a sweet diaper cake that features the wash cloth giraffe.

Baby Blankets:  4 receiving and 1 fleece
Wash Cloth Design:  pattern from Topsy Turvey
Cricut Cartridge:  Storybook, Create a Critter, Give a Hoot
Embossing:  Cuttlebug "Baby Words" folder.
Diapers:  size 2
Other:  ribbon, tulle, peacock feathers all purchased at Hobby Lobby. 
Accent:  Stickles

Elephant Diaper Cake for Baby Benjamin

This is a special order diaper cake for a special little-one-to-be in New Hampshire.

Diaper Cake = size 2 Luv Diapers, two receiving blankets.
Elephants = made using two baby wash cloths per elephant and clear rubber bands.
Images = made using Cricut cartridges:  Create a Critter, Storybook, Life's a Party, Accent Essentials.
Embossing = Cuttlebug "Hounds Tooth" folder.
Stamps:  Peachy Keen PK-490 Everyday Character Face Assortment [1" size].
Ink:  Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Elephant Diaper Cake
The diaper cake is sitting on a Lazy Susan that allows me to turn while taking pictures.

  • "BENJAMIN" letters are from Cricut Storybook cartridge.  Stickles added as accents to letters.
  • Peanut images are from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; [Peanut-s] found on page 55 of the folder.  Peanut images are mounted with foam tape.
  • Circus Tent image is from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; [Elephant][Accessory] found on page 55 of the folder.  Two were cut, one with flip feature and mounted back-to-back with foam tape.  They are attached on a popsicle stick with hot glue.  The letter "B" at top of tent is from Cricut Storybook cartridge.  White gel pen used for faux stitching.

  • Starburst images from Cricut Accent Essentials; [Accent7-s] found on page 38 of the folder.  Faces are from Peachy Keen PK-490 Everyday Character Face Assortment.  White gel pen used to color in eye on faces.  Pink chalk used for cheeks.

  • Lion image from Cricut Life's a Party cartridge; [Lion] found on page 26 of the folder.  Lion is mounted with foam tape.

  • Peanut images were embossed using Cuttlebug "Hounds Tooth" folder to create a more "peanut texture" to image.  Color of peanut created using Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink over beige card stock.

  • Eyes of elephants are googly eyes attached with mini glue dots.  There are two 3" pipe cleaners inside the elephant's noses that allow them to bend and be shaped.  Elephants are attached at the feet with straight pins.

Dinosaur & Volocano Diaper Cake

  • 2 baby wash cloths (dinosaur is made from 2 wash cloths)

  • Volcano = cut at 4.5" from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; <Volcano> found on page 50 of the folder.  Gold Stickles added to lava part.  Volcano is hot glued to a popsiscle stick and inserted between blanket and diapers.
  • Dinosaur = cut at 3.25" from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; <Dino2> found on page 51 of the folder.  Dinosaur is hot glued to a popsiscle stick.
  • Tropical Trees (two on cake, one is cut with Flip feature) = cut at 5" from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; <Dino2><Accessory> found on page 51 of folder.  Tree is mounted with foam tape to ribbon and blanket.

Outter circle images are from Cricut Dinosaur Tracks cartridge.  All images have edges inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Images are different sizes, but if I were making this again I would cut all images at 1.75".

Girl Elephant Diaper Cake

Large Diaper Cake - Girl

Large Diaper Cake for a girl
Contents:

4 receiving blankets
1 large fleece blanket
2 pairs baby socks
6 wash cloths (two are used in the elephant)
50 size two Luvs Diapers
2 diaper pins

Baby elephant was created with two baby wash cloths.  Directions purchased from Topsy Turvy here.  The google eyes with eye lashes are attached with small glue dots.  Bow on head made from twine from Paper Studio and is attached with a small glue dot.

Pinwheels were purchased at Hobby Lobby for .99 each.

Cupcakes :  inside of cupcake is a rolled baby wash cloth.  Outside of cupcake is one baby sock.

Diaper pins serve as a guide for the ribbon.  Blankets are actually held together with corsage pins purchased from Michaels. 

Ribbon was purchased from Hobby Lobby.

The receiving blankets are puffy because they were lined with diapers before forming into a circle.

Flowers = cut using Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge; <MomChick><Accessory> found on page 44 of the folder.  I cut multiple sizes :  1.75", 1.5", 1.25" in pink and turquoise. 

Letters = cut using Cricut Storybook cartridge at 1.5" using turquoise cardstock.

White flower centers = circles cut at .5" from Cricut Accent Essentials; <Accent1-s> found on page 32 of folder.

Accents = Liquid Pearls.


Flower = cut at 3.75" from Cricut Create a Critter cartridge; <Flower1-s> found on page 44 of the folder.  Flower is attached with hot glue to a green Popsicle stick.

Bee = Disney Classic Pooh sticker.  Purchased at Michaels.

Noah's Ark Diaper Cake

Noah's Ark Diaper Cake.

Base of Ark (shown in brown pattern) = large fluffy baby blanket.  Secure end of blanket with corsage pins.  Center of Ark is a container of baby wipes.   Size 2 diapers are wrapper around baby wipes until Ark is full.  Double ribbons were added for decoration and additional security.

Door to Ark (shown in yellow) = burp cloth folded in half and tucked onto side of ark.

Top of Ark (shown under green blanket) = Six size 2 diapers rolled and wrapped with rubber bands.  These six diapers are then stacked in a pyramid fashion and wrapped with a receiving blanket:  3 diapers on bottom, 2 diapers in middle, 1 diaper on top.

Roof of Ark (shown in green & white polka dots) = 5" x 10" cardboard bent in center.   Receiving blanket is then wrapped around cardboard and placed on top.

Butterflies, heart, and flower shown on roof are all from Martha Stewart punches and have been attached using glue dots.

Leaves under flower are from Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge.


Two ribbons (one not showing in picture) have been wrapped around Top of Ark thru diapers in Ark and tied on under side.

Outer ring has 18 circles cut at 2" each.

9 Fish (3 yellow, 3 red, 3 blue) = cut at 1.75" from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge; <Fish> on page 43 of folder.   Fish paper colors are from Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Season cartridge.

Edges of Fish have been inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink.


Wash Cloth Elephant = created using two baby wash cloths and clear rubber bands (no pins).   Google eyes and a ribbon were added to elephant.

Lamb = cut at 3.75" from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge, <Lamb> on page 71 of folder.  Paper colors are from Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.

Liquid Applique was added to create the lamb's fluffy wool.   Liquid pearls were added to center of bows.

Edges of Lamb have been inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink.

The Lamb is hot glued on one side of a wooden stick. On backside is the shadow cut, also hot glued to stick.


Kitten = cut at 3.75" from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge, <Cat2> on page 38 of folder.   Paper colors are from Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.

Stickles have been added to Kitten's bow tie.  Edges of Kitten have been inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink.

The Kitten is hot glued on one side of a wooden stick. On backside is the shadow cut, also hot glued to stick.


Wash Cloth Hippo =  created using two baby wash cloths and clear rubber bands (no pins). Google eyes and a stick on flower were added to hippo.

The Bunny is hot glued on one side of a wooden stick.   On backside is the shadow cut, also hot glued to stick.


Deer = cut at 3.75" from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge, <Fawn> on page 69 of folder.  Paper colors are from Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.

Collar of Deer has pink Stickles added.   Additionally, pink chalk has been added to Deer's cheek.   White gel pen was used to create white freckles inside of pink cheek.

Edges of Deer have been inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink.

The Deer is hot glued on one side of a wooden stick. On backside is the shadow cut, also hot glued to stick.

Kite-Eating Tree Diaper Cake

This small diaper cake the will make a big impact.   Diaper cake contains 1 receivng blanket and about 25 size two diapers. Kite and Dragonfly are accented with Glossy Accents.   Kite is also accented with orange colored twine.  Dragonfly and Kite are attached using floral wire.

Decorations are as follows:

Boy and Kite cuts are from Everyday Paper Doll Cricut cartridge.
Dog and Dragonfly are from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge.
Tree is from Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge.
Paper colors are from Yummy Imagine Cricut cartridge.

Baseball Diaper Cake

Baseball Diaper Cake for Jaxon.   Diaper cake contains 3 receivng blankets, 1 large 30 x 40 inch fleech baby blanket, baby spoons, baby socks, baby wash cloths, diaper pins and lots of size 2 diapers.   Cuts are from from Everyday Paper Doll, Paper Doll dress-up, Life's a Party, Create a Critter, Winter Woodland, Boys Will Be Boys and Songbird Cricut cartridges.   Colors are from Imagine More Cricut cartridge.

Hippo Diaper Cake with Matching Card


Hippo Diaper cake made using Life's a Party, Create a Critter and Imagine More Cards Cricut cartridges.


Matching baby card.  Card matches diaper cake topper.   Made using Create a Critter and Imagine More Cards (colors)  Cricut cartridges.  Flowers are from a Martha Stewart punch.  Center of flowers created using Viva Decor Pearl Pens.


Top of Hippo Diaper Cake.  Three hippos are made using two baby wash cloths (each).   Banner sign "Welcome Baby" created using Life's a Party, Create a Critter and Imagine More Cards (colors) Cricut cartridges.


Top of diaper cake.   Hippos are standing on two receiving blankets with diapers rolled inside.
